Properties in Chinese medicine
- Regulates and circulates Qi
- Harmonizes the Qi of the *median focus and strengthens the spleen
- Relieves the diaphragm
- Dries up dampness
- Transforms **Mucus
- Directs Qi downwards from the stomach***
*The median focus corresponds to the stomach and spleen. Depending on the state of these 2 organs, digestion will be good or bad, as in Chinese medicine they are in charge.
**Mucus is generated by an accumulation of moisture. In short, dried mandarin peel enables the metabolism to eliminate it.
***The natural movement of Qi from the stomach is downwards, but sometimes it can rebel and flow in the opposite direction (upwards). This can lead to acid regurgitation, nausea and/or vomiting.
