Here’s a do-it-yourself wine, called medicinal wine in Chinese medicine, which is used for rheumatoid arthritis and joint pain/arthritis, taken orally. Here’s the formula for the herbs used to make this wine.

Also consider the external application complement with Rheumatoid Arthritis Liniment (He Yi Sheng Jiu).

Who is this do-it-yourself wine for?

For rheumatoid arthritis sufferers and those experiencing joint pain/arthritis with a predominance of wetness.

The most important symptoms of joint pain/arthritis with a predominance of moisture are :

  • Pain always in the same joint(s), with a feeling of heaviness in the body
  • Pain in the lumbar region as if sitting in water, with a feeling of heaviness
  • Pain starting mainly in the lower limbs
  • Swelling of the joint.

What you need for manufacturing:

A rheumatoid arthritis kit containing the 6 herbs you need to make this wine.
An airtight glass container. We recommend a large glass jar with a glass lid. The seal will help keep the container airtight. Avoid jars with iron screw-on lids.
2000ml or 3000ml grain alcohol such as vodka or sorghum or millet alcohol (called Bai Jiu in Chinese stores). Alcohol between 30 and 40 degrees is sufficient. No pharmaceutical alcohols!

Preparation for making this wine:

  • Open your kit’s pouch and pour the ingredients into your glass jar (if necessary, cut the herbs into smaller pieces to facilitate extraction of the active ingredients).
  • Pour in 2000 to 3000ml of vodka, sorghum alcohol or millet alcohol
  • Close the jar, having previously placed the seal on the lid
  • Label your container (name and date of manufacture)
  • Leave the ingredients to macerate in the alcohol for at least 14 days in a dark place, shaking the jar at least once a day (you can leave to macerate for longer if you wish, 1 month for example, this will produce a more potent wine).

Once maceration is complete

  • The medicinal liquid can be filtered. Or you can leave the ingredients in.
  • If filtering, squeeze the herbs to recover as much substance as possible.
  • You can decant the wine into a bottle if you like.
  • Always store the jar or bottle in a dark place.

Use

After maceration. Orally, 30 ml each, 1 to 2 times a day, taken on an empty stomach.

For people who can’t tolerate alcohol, warm water can be added.

Use is for people with rheumatoid arthritis or moisture-type joint pain (see above for details).

Contraindications

  • Pregnant women
  • Breastfeeding
  • People without rheumatoid arthritis or joint pain.
  • Do not use in case of liver disease or alcohol intolerance.
