A word from David Brun

(Graduate of the Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine)

Rich in aroma and slightly bitter in taste, rose buds (Mei Gui Hua; 玫瑰花) can be consumed for pleasure, for its benefits, or both. Their actions are aimed at the liver meridian on the one hand, and the spleen meridian on the other. The spleen is less famous than the liver but it plays an important role in Chinese medicine since it is the conductor of digestion, it allows the production of Qi and blood.
