Indications
- contusion
- sprain
- strain
- fracture
- sports or accident injury
- dislocation
- arthritis
Zheng Gu Shui is to be used externally, in cases of severe hematoma or sprain, its complement for internal use is Die Da Wan.
How to make your own Zheng Gu Shui?
With this kit, you can make 620ml of Zheng Gu Shui, which corresponds to around 13 bottles of 45ml or 7 bottles of 88ml.
The resulting liniment is slightly stronger than the commercial version.
What’s more, we’ll give you a free spray bottle so you can put a small amount of our Zheng Gu Shui in it for optimum use.
What you need:
- A Zheng Gu Shui kit containing the 10 herbs you need to make this liniment.
- An airtight glass container. We recommend a glass jar with a glass lid, like the one used for canning. The gasket will help ensure that the jar is airtight. Avoid jars with iron screw-on lids.
- 620ml vodka or sorghum or millet alcohol (called Bai Jiu in Chinese stores). Alcohol should be between 35 and 50 degrees.
The easiest way to make your own Zheng Gu Shui is as follows:
- Open the pouch of the Zheng Gu Shui kit you bought from us. If there are a few large pieces of herb, break them into 2 or 3.
- Pour the entire contents of the pouch into a glass jar.
- Pour in 620 ml of vodka, sorghum alcohol or millet alcohol.
- Close the jar, having placed the seal on the lid beforehand
- Always label your container (name and date of manufacture) and note that it’s for external use only, not for drinking!
- Then place the jar in a dark, cool place, such as a cupboard.
- Leave to macerate for 8-10 days.
- During maceration, shake the jar twice a day.
- When you need it, pour some of the preparation into the bottle we supply.
After the days of maceration, should I filter the herbs or leave them in the container?
Both solutions are possible.
- You can filter the liniment after 8 or 10 days, which will give you a commercially available Zheng Gu Shui (although a little stronger).
- Or you can leave the plants in the jar and just add liniment to the spray bottle when you need it. This way, the part that remains in the jar will continue to macerate, creating an even stronger Zheng Gu Shui.
Always shake your container before use, to ensure that you get all the components that might float to the top or settle to the bottom.
After applying your liniment, always wash your hands to avoid accidental contact with your eyes or other sensitive areas of your body. Always keep out of reach of children!
