Make 2840ml of your own Hand Elixir at home
+
a free spray bottle

This elixir kit for protecting and strengthening hands and wrists includes: the 19 herbs used to make this liniment + a spray bottle.
This kit contains a formula used to prevent hand injuries caused by heavy use, by strengthening tendons and ligaments. It can therefore be used for sports or occupations that place stress on the joints and tendons of the fingers, hand, wrist and forearm. It can also be applied to toes and feet.
It’s noticeable in various martial arts, but also in other sports, that many athletes have to tape their hands and fingers because many have permanently weakened or swollen finger joints with reduced range of motion. Apart from the fact that this is inconvenient for other activities in life, damage to the soft tissues of the fingers resulting from overuse can create a host of problems. According to traditional Chinese medicine, damage to the fingers can cause obstructions in the meridians, which can also damage internal organs.
Traditionally, damage to the fingertips (where the Yin and Yang polarity of the arm meridians change) is thought to cause blindness resulting from clotting in the small blood vessels of the fingers. This type of damage can limit the range of movement of the finger joints, as well as triggering tendonitis, arthritis and nerve damage in the hands.
This kit lets you make your own lotion to protect and strengthen fingers, hands and forearms, and helps prevent the accumulation of minor injuries to the health of the hand as well as the rest of the body.
Properties in Chinese medicine
This unique formula has the following effects:
- warms the meridians
- dissipates blood stasis
- promotes the free circulation of Qi and blood in the fingers, hands, wrists and forearms
- strengthens tendons and ligaments
- strengthens the bones of the hands
Indications
The formula in this kit comes from Chinese martial arts to strengthen the hands and train the gripping power of the hands in certain styles of kung fu (Gong Fu). It is therefore a formula to prevent injury; if you are already injured, use Zheng Gu Shui instead.
This is one of the most useful and versatile formulas, and is extremely important for protecting the tendons and ligaments of the hands when they are regularly physically taxed or systematically trained. Some examples of its wide application:
- Kungfu styles such as Qi Na
- Judo
- Aikido
- Ju-jitsu
- Brazilian Jiu-jitsu
- Grappling
- Sambo
- Wrestling
- Climbing
- Bodybuilding
But also for all trades or hobbies that put stress on fingers and wrists, for example:
- Building trades
- Agricultural trades
- Massage
- Gardening
How do you make your own hand elixir?
With this kit, you’ll be able to make 2840ml of this lotion, so you’ll be able to use it for a long time.
What’s more, we’re giving you a free spray bottle so you can put a small amount of lotion in it for optimum use.
Here is what you need:
- An “elixir for protecting and strengthening hands and wrists” kit containing the 19 herbs you need to make this liniment.
- An airtight glass container. We recommend a large glass jar with a glass lid (3.5L or more). The seal will help keep the container airtight. Avoid jars with iron screw-on lids.
- 2840ml vodka or sorghum or millet alcohol (called Bai Jiu in Chinese stores). Alcohol should be between 35 and 50 degrees.
The easiest way to make your own elixir is as follows:
- Open the pouch of your “elixir for protecting and strengthening hands and wrists” kit purchased from us. If there are any large pieces of herbs, break them into 2 or 3.
- Pour the entire contents of the pouch into a large glass jar
- Pour in 2840ml of vodka or sorghum alcohol or millet alcohol
- Close the jar, having previously placed the seal on the lid
- Always label your container (name and date of manufacture) and note that it is for external use only, do not drink!
- Then place the jar in a dark, cool place, such as a cupboard.
- Leave to macerate for 3 months (possibly 2 months if you shake the preparation 2 or more times a day).
- During maceration, shake the jar at least once a day.
- When you need it, pour some of the preparation into the bottle we supply. Leave the rest to macerate.
After the days of maceration, should I filter the herbs or leave them in the container?
Leave the herbs in the jar and just pour liniment into the spray bottle when you need it, so that the part remaining in the jar continues to macerate, making this elixir even more powerful. Note that the herbs can be left to macerate in the jar for up to 2 years.
Always shake your container before use, to ensure that you get all the components that might float to the top or settle to the bottom.
Always keep out of reach of children!

Instructions for use
Take a small amount of liniment and massage it into the joints of the hands and wrists, as well as into the tendon attachments of the flexor and extensor muscles of the hands located at the medial and lateral epicondyles of the humerus.
Liniment should be applied before and after any activity involving the tendons and joints of the hands, wrists and forearms.
For external use only!
Martial arts
For sports and martial arts, this lotion should be used before and after each training session. Be careful if you’re wearing a white kimono (Gi), as liniment can easily stain the gi. It may be best to rub the liniment into your hands and forearms before putting on the gi jacket.
Precautions for use
- For external use only!
- Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes
- Do not bandage tightly
- Do not use on wounds or damaged skin
- Do not use other than as directed, as such use may be dangerous
- Apply with caution if pregnant
- This liniment is not suitable for acute trauma such as bruising, jammed or broken fingers, torn hand ligaments, etc. In such cases, Zheng Gu Shui or specific poultices should be used.
Keep liniment and all medicines out of the reach of children. If swallowed, seek medical advice or contact a Poison Control Centre immediately.
