Instructions for use and dosage
Soup/Decoction:
Rinse the beans in cold water, then put 30g of azuki beans in 240ml or 320 ml of water (depending on whether you want a liquid or thicker soup). Bring to the boil over high heat, then lower the heat and simmer for at least 1 hour. You’ll know the beans are cooked when their skins burst.
You can soak the azuki beans for 30 minutes to 1 hour beforehand, to reduce cooking time.
Combinations:
- Azuki beans can be combined with Job’s tears and fuling mushroom for water retention and cellulite.
- Combine with Chinese angelica for bleeding hemorrhoids.
Contraindication :
Azuki beans are contraindicated for people suffering from :
- Urinary incontinence
- nocturia or enuresis
- Coldness and no weight problems
– Pregnant women should not consume too many azuki beans.
– Avoid consuming azuki beans over long periods, as their diuretic properties can dry out the body. This is even more true for slim people.
